Artisan Floral Design for Weddings and Events in Tuscany

A Floral Workshop in Florence Since 1995
I'm Ezio De Angelis. Since 1995 I've been designing bespoke floral installations from my workshop in Florence — for weddings, elopements and events in historic villas, castles and estates across Tuscany. I work by appointment, on selected projects, with a careful approach to every client. I don't decorate spaces. I design floral experiences.
The Intentional Floral Beauty Method
Thirty years of work led me to develop a precise way of working I call the Intentional Floral Beauty Method. It's not a marketing label — it's how I actually work, every single time.
Every floral project starts with listening. I want to understand your story, the venue, the atmosphere you want to create — because before I talk about flowers, I need to know what you want your guests to feel. From there I build a floral design where every colour, every flower, every structure and every empty space has a reason. And on the day itself, I manage the floral narrative moment by moment — ceremony, aperitif, dinner, dancing — to create an emotional journey, not just a beautiful backdrop.
The result is something that couldn't have come from a catalogue. It comes from you, the venue, and the season.
A Craft Workshop in Florence Since 1995
Nearly thirty years ago I opened my workshop on Via Cecconi in Florence. Since then I've worked in over fifty of Tuscany's most beautiful venues — from the Chianti hills to the Val d'Orcia, from the Maremma coast to the Valdinievole — but the approach has never changed: tailored, seasonal, in dialogue with each place and each couple.
I don't take on every enquiry. Before any project there's a conversation, often a site visit. The quote comes afterwards, not before — because a floral installation worth anything can't come from an online form.
What can I do for your wedding or event in Tuscany?
I handle every project personally, from the first conversation to the day of the event. These are
the contexts where I work best
Weddings in Tuscany
I design bespoke floral arrangements for weddings in historic villas, medieval castles,
farmhouse estates and country houses. I've worked across the Chianti, Val d'Orcia, Siena area,Mugello and many other parts of Tuscany. Every wedding starts with listening: who you are,
where you're celebrating, what feeling you want to leave with the people who love you.
Elopements in Tuscany
Elopements are some of my favourite projects: they allow for absolute attention to detail and a
very direct relationship with the couple. I often work in natural settings — olive groves, hilltops,
medieval villages, Italian-style gardens — alongside photographers and planners who specialise in intimate ceremonies.
Venues I've Worked in Across Tuscany
Over the years I've worked in more than fifty of Tuscany's most sought-after wedding venues: Medici villas, medieval castles, Chianti wine estates, Val d'Orcia farmhouses, hilltop residences overlooking Siena. Every venue has its own light, architecture and character — and every floral design starts from that specific conversation between flowers and space.
Wedding in a villa in Chianti – floral arrangements in dusty tones inspired by the landscape.
Corporate gala dinner in Florence – essential floral decorations for a historic room.
Symbolic ceremony among the olive trees in the Tuscan countryside – seasonal flowers in white and green.
Stories and Ideas from the Blog
On the blog I share wedding and event stories, practical guides on flower selection, deep-dives into Tuscan venues and reflections on the craft of floral design. It's written for couples, wedding planners and creative professionals who want to understand how a floral installation is actually built before we meet.
Let's Talk About Your Project
If you're planning a wedding, elopement or event in Tuscany and want a floral design that makes sense — for the venue, the season, your story — get in touch. I reply personally, Tuesday to Friday. The first step is simple: tell me who you are, where you're celebrating and what atmosphere you want to create. The quote comes later. First, there's a conversation.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I contact a floral designer for my Tuscany wedding?
I recommend reaching out at least 9 to 12 months before your wedding date, especially if you've chosen a highly sought-after venue or a peak season date — May through October. This gives me enough time to design the installation properly, choose the right flowers for the season and coordinate everything for the day. For smaller weddings or off-season dates, a shorter lead time can work too — just get in touch and we'll figure out what's possible.
How much does wedding floral design cost in Tuscany?
There's no fixed price, because every project is bespoke. The cost depends on the scale of the installation, the complexity of the venue, the flowers chosen, the season and the number of elements involved. The best way to get a realistic idea is to tell me about your wedding — I'll come back to you with a rough estimate, no commitment. The contact form includes some indicative budget ranges to help frame the conversation.
What does the process look like from first contact to wedding day?
It starts with a message: you tell me who you are, your date, the venue and the atmosphere you're after. If the project feels right for both of us, we'll have a call — often a video call — and then I'll arrange a site visit. From there we build the proposal together: colour palette, flowers, details. Once the project is confirmed with a deposit, I follow everything through to the day itself, where I personally oversee the installation.
Do you work outside Tuscany?
My base is Florence and most projects take place in Tuscany — Chianti, Val d'Orcia, Maremma, Mugello, Siena area. I consider travel to other parts of Central Italy on a case-by-case basis, when the project fits my work and covers the logistical costs. If you have a specific venue outside Tuscany in mind, write to me — if the project is interesting, I'll always find a way.
Do you use artificial or preserved flowers?
No. I work almost exclusively with fresh seasonal flowers, chosen according to the time of year and the sensibility of each project. Fresh flowers have a vitality, a scent and a naturalness that no other material can replicate. I choose seasonal varieties out of respect for the environment and to guarantee the best possible result on the day.
What's the difference between a traditional florist and a wedding floral designer?
A florist prepares arrangements — bouquets, centrepieces, wreaths — often from existing templates. A wedding floral designer works from a project: they listen to the couple's story, study the venue, the light, the architecture and the surrounding landscape, and build a floral design that speaks to all of that. Every choice has an aesthetic and narrative reason — it doesn't come from a catalogue. The result is an atmosphere that's entirely yours — one you wouldn't have
found anywhere else.
What does the floral quote include?
The quote I prepare is detailed and transparent: it covers every floral element planned, the indicative flowers with seasonal alternatives, material costs, my professional fee, and transport and installation costs on the day. No hidden charges. If something doesn't fit within your budget we'll rework it together — the goal is to find the right solution, not to upsell you.
Do you work on elopements and intimate weddings?
Yes, and they're among my favourite projects. Elopements and intimate weddings allow for absolute attention to detail and a much more direct relationship with the couple. I often work alongside photographers and planners who specialise in this kind of ceremony, in natural settings like olive groves, medieval hilltop villages or the hills of the Val d'Orcia and Chianti.
Is it possible to have quality floral design on a limited budget?
In many cases, yes. Working with local seasonal flowers, choosing varieties that are beautiful but less expensive, concentrating the budget on the most visible moments — the altar, the entrance, the main centrepieces — are all strategies that deliver an elegant result without waste. During the consultation I'll help you understand where to invest and where you can scale back without losing quality.
