Those Who Choose Flowers Cultivate Intentional Beauty: A Tribute to Sensitivity

A Small Gesture That Reveals a Way of Seeing the World

In my Bottega dei Fiori in Florence, I often find myself observing those who come in, write, or ask for a bouquet or an arrangement for a special moment. Over time I have understood something simple: anyone who chooses flowers, in any form, is cultivating a certain way of looking at the world. It is not a purchase of necessity; it is a choice of spirit. Pausing over a petal, a shade of colour, a scent means allowing yourself a moment of attention towards what is fragile, fleeting and therefore precious. It is a gentle way of saying to yourself and to others: “beauty matters, even in the smallest things”. For some, this sensibility then becomes the same gaze with which they approach wedding floral arrangements and floral design in Tuscany.

Why We Give Flowers: Flowers as Mediators of Emotion

Behind every bouquet, even the simplest, there is almost always a precise thought. There are those who entrust to flowers the words they cannot say, those who look for a rare variety to surprise, those who bring home a small bunch just to make a table or a room feel more alive. In every case, the flower becomes a mediator: it translates a thank you, an I’m sorry, an I’m thinking of you, an I care about you. In my work as a floral designer in Florence I often hear only a few words and many silences, and in between there are emotions to be brought into focus. Intentional beauty is born exactly here: from the desire to make an emotion visible and scented, one that on its own would struggle to find the right words.

Beauty as Care for Yourself and for Others

Choosing flowers is not only a gesture towards the person who receives them, but also towards yourself. Some people buy them for their own home, to give breath to a studio, to keep a fragment of nature close in the middle of fast days. In a time when everything runs, stopping to look at the curve of a stem or the light on a petal is a quiet form of self‑care: a way to bring harmony, balance and breathing space back to the centre. My role, in the Bottega, is to help people put a name to this feeling: to guide them in choosing a flower that is not “just any flower”, but the one that in that moment resonates with their state of mind, their story, the environment where it will be welcomed.

The People Who Let Flowers Speak

Over the years I have met shy clients, talkative ones, hurried ones, dreamers. Some choose a quick small bunch for an impulsive thought; others take their time to tell of a new love, a reconciliation, a loss, a joy great or small. All, however, have one thing in common: they use flowers to communicate. Whether they are for a mother, a friend, someone far away or someone who is no longer here, every floral choice opens a space for relationship. Every flower carries a fragment of story, and every person who comes into the Bottega brings their own sensitivity, more or less visible, but always present.

A Thank‑You to Those Who Keep Choosing Intentional Beauty

If La Bottega dei Fiori continues to be a living place in Florence, it is thanks to the people who, day after day, decide to let flowers speak for them. I do not see you as “just clients”, but as companions in a shared gesture: believing that a flower can still make a difference in a day, in a room, in a moment of life. If you feel that you too have something to say through a flower – an affection, a gratitude, a quiet thought – we can look for the right form together. I work by appointment so that I can listen to you calmly and transform that sensitivity into a bespoke creation, whether small or large, able to truly resemble what you carry inside and, when you wish, to extend also to your wedding floral arrangements in Tuscany.

If this way of cultivating intentional beauty feels close to you, everything can begin with a calm conversation in my Bottega in Florence or at a distance. I work by appointment as a floral designer in Florence, creating floral design in Tuscany for weddings, events and everyday gestures that need a little more care. Together we can design bouquets and wedding floral arrangements that respect your sensitivity and the places you wish to honour.
