Why Choose La Bottega dei Fiori: My Way of Working Between Florence and Tuscany

An Appointment‑Only Workshop, Not a Walk‑In Shop

When a couple contacts me, they often arrive with many images in mind: a villa among the vineyards of Chianti, a village in Val d’Orcia, a church in the centre of Florence, a garden full of lights at sunset. Behind these images lies a simple question: will the person who takes care of the flowers know how to listen to us, respect the venues, help us avoid excess?

La Bottega dei Fiori is an artisanal workshop, not a shop that is “always open”. I work by appointment only, to dedicate real time to each project, without the rush of a daily counter. In the workshop you will find buckets, worktables, material samples, sketches: it is a working space, not a window display to glance at on the way past. As a floral designer in Florence, this is the starting point for every piece of floral design in Tuscany that I sign.

From Landscape to Flowers: Reading Places Before Trends

In Tuscany, places speak loudly: pietra serena stone, cypress trees, vineyards, cloisters, courtyards, frescoes. My work is to listen to them, not to cover them. This is why, before even talking about specific flowers, I take time to study the venues: church or town hall, garden or indoor room, historic villa or country farmhouse.

A frescoed chapel in central Florence requires lightness and respect, not flower walls that cancel out the architecture. A garden in Chianti does not need to be filled in every corner: it is often enough to frame the ceremony, accompany the aperitif and dinner tables, and build an atmosphere that is coherent with the light. In Val d’Orcia, the wide lines of the landscape invite more airy compositions that speak with the horizon instead of closing it in. The flowers come afterwards: chosen because they converse with the space, not because they are “on trend”.

Measure, Budget and Sustainability: Priorities First, Then the Rest

I do not love excess created just for a photograph, nor designs that compete with the venue instead of accompanying it. I would rather see a carefully considered bouquet, a well‑designed ceremony and a table that breathes than dozens of elements that add nothing.

With couples, I almost always work by priorities:

– first personal flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres, small details for those closest to you),

– then the place of the “yes” (church, town hall or garden),

– finally reception and tables.

From there we build the floral budget in a transparent way, deciding where it truly makes sense to invest and where we can instead rely on the Tuscan landscape, on light and on architecture. Sustainability also passes through these choices: using seasonal flowers when possible, avoiding out‑of‑time forcing, reducing waste, not “filling up” out of obligation. Sometimes we evaluate together whether certain arrangements can be moved from one moment to another, respecting timing and the quality of the work. Saying a few motivated “no’s” is part of my responsibility towards you and towards the places that host us, and is essential for honest wedding floral arrangements in Tuscany.

A Direct Relationship, Without Exaggerated Promises

Choosing La Bottega dei Fiori means having a direct relationship with the person who designs and oversees your floral arrangements. There is no anonymous structure with many departments: you speak with the same person who will meet you in the workshop and who, together with his team, will be present on your wedding day.

I prefer clear, concrete language. If a flower is not right for the season, I say so. If a request clashes with the limits of a venue, I look for realistic alternatives. If the budget cannot support everything you have imagined, we identify priorities together and build coherent solutions. I do not promise “special effects” in any condition: I promise careful listening and planning that hold together your desires, the reality of each place and a balanced idea of beauty. This is the foundation of my way of doing floral design in Tuscany.

Between City and Countryside: Adapting Each Project to Its Territory

Over the years I have worked in many different contexts: churches in central Florence, country parish churches in Chianti, villas overlooking vineyards, small villages in Val d’Orcia, historic town halls, wineries and hotels. This experience allows me to understand how floral needs change depending on the territory.

In Florence, weddings often live in urban spaces: churches, historic palaces, hotels. Here, the challenge is to speak with stone, frescoes and interior light. In Chianti and Val d’Orcia, the journey stretches out between outdoor ceremonies, transfers, garden tables or loggias: climate, set‑up times and changing light at sunset all come into play. I never propose the same design for every venue: I adapt flowers, shapes and quantities to the real context, so that each floral design in Tuscany becomes a small map drawn over the stages of your day.

An Invitation to Talk, Calmly

In the end, choosing La Bottega dei Fiori means choosing a way of working: artisanal, by appointment, rooted in Florence and used to moving respectfully through the Tuscan hills. It means accepting the idea that flowers do not need to be everywhere, but in the right places; that landscape and architecture are allies, not backdrops to be covered; that the budget should be distributed honestly.

If you are imagining a wedding in Tuscany – in a country church, an historic town hall, a villa among the vineyards of Chianti, a village overlooking Val d’Orcia or a hotel in the heart of Florence – we can start with a conversation. In my workshop, or at a distance, we will look together at venues, seasons and priorities. From there we will build wedding floral arrangements and floral design in Tuscany that respect your story, the places you have chosen and the natural rhythm of the day, without ostentation, with the measure that feels most like you.

If this way of working feels close to what you are seeking, everything can begin with a calm conversation in my Bottega in Florence or online, without rush or pressure. I work by appointment as a floral designer in Florence, creating artisanal floral design in Tuscany that is measured, seasonal and attentive to both budget and landscape. Together we can design wedding floral arrangements that you will recognise as yours, in every image and in every memory.
